mCare Africa seeks to provide relevant maternal and child health-related information for prospective new mothers, pregnant women, nursing mothers and caregivers.
There is a high rate of maternal and neonatal mortality in Ghana and poor health in the developmental years of children, due to a lack of knowledge on the mothers’ part. According to the World Health Organisation, in 2015, roughly 2,800 neonatal deaths occurred per 100,000 live births in Ghana, which is very alarming. The foremost objectives of mCare Africa are to save the lives of mothers and babies through providing the right information, to empower Ghanaian women to have control over their pregnancies, and to teach them to detect possible abnormalities during the period of pregnancy and early years of their children. With access to the right information, mCare Africa will help to improve maternal and child health significantly.
